Covid-19 protective kits distributed to clubs

Imphal, August 29 2021:
Breaking the Silence Worldwide Foundation continued distribution of protective gears including high grade N95 masks, face shields, disinfectant and soap bars.
Since launch of the distribution programme on August 27, the Foundation has so far benefitted 31 local clubs in Imphal East and Imphal West districts, informed a release, adding that the same will continue till August 30 .
The safety kits were distributed under the initiative of Foundation's Urmila Chanam to provide protection to the frontline workers and convey gratitude for their selfless service during the pandemic.
Urmila Chanam opined that the exemplary leadership and contribution of the local clubs and their Covid 19 volunteers in the prevention, monitoring, providing linkages to testing, vaccination and hospitalisation, essentials and medicines to households impacted by the pandemic can easily be the best practice of community response during pandemic not just in India but globally.
The clubs and organisations benefitted so far include Youth Brighter Club, Langdum; Young Men Development Organisation Club, Heirangoithohg; Kakwa Covid Task Force Co-ordinating Committee (made up of 16 leikai clubs); The Welfare Club, Sagolband Tera Amudon Akham Leikai; Socio Cultural and Sports Organisation, Sagolband Tera Pukhrambam Leikai; Local Disaster Response Force (LDRF), Khumbong Bazar; Tribal Youth Club, Tribal Market New Lambulane; and Kuki Students' Organisation run Covid Care Centre at Dewlahland.
