Cleanliness drive at Moreh Hospital

Taking serious note over the recent outbreak of diarrhea in the border town, a one-day cleanliness drive was organized at Moreh hospital today.
The drive, which began from 11 am, was organized jointly by Minority Women Development Society and Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Moreh.
The Staffs of Moreh Fire Services also joined in the drive and ensured adequate supply of the required water.
According to MO in-charge of Moreh Hospital Dr.Th.Nandakeshor Singh, though diarrhea cases have not yet been confirmed so far and test results of the sample collected are awaited, there has been no let up in the number of patients being brought for treatment with syndrome of Diarrhea.
Nonetheless, many of the patients have been discharged from the hospital after necessary vaccination and treatment.
Even today itself, more than 200 patients were treated at the Moreh Hospital.
In spite of inadequate doctors and other staff, the remaining ones are trying their best and performing their duties, the MO in-charge said.
It is said that in the 50-bedded hospital, there are only six doctors including the MO in-charge himself, though the actual required number of doctors in the hospital is 15.Moreover, out of the required 25 nurses, there are only 8 nurses in the hospital.
Among these 8 nurses again, two of them are on maternal leave.
There is also no X-ray technician in the hospital.
