Prayer held seeking protection against Covid-19

As the second wave of Covid-19 continues to ravage the society, more organisations and faiths are turning their attention towards the Almighty seeking divine blessings to minimise the impact of the pandemic.
In continuation of such prayer sessions, Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Manipur organised a prayer session at Koubru Laikha on Thursday.
Titular king of Manipur and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Lok Sabha MP RK Ranjan, Keirao MLA Nahakpam Indrajit and executive members of the foundation attended the prayer session.
Speaking to media on the occasion, Leishemba Sanajaoba informed that the prayer session was held as per tradition of the society and beliefs of different faiths to seek blessings of the Almighty for protection from the pandemic.
The government is doing everything it could to contain the situation, Sanajaoba said, while expressing his belief that the initiatives taken up by the government and prayer sessions held by different faiths will definitely ease the sufferings of the people and bring down the infection rate.
Spokesperson of the foundation Takhellambam Irabat said that they are organising Rudra Abhishek, Durgan Agni Pooja and Sapta Sati Pooja after consulting with religious scholars at the sacred site of Koubru Laikha.
Prior permission from the DC concerned was taken for the ritual and relevant SOPs for Covid were followed in the event, he added.
