People for Animal (PFA) has rescued animals from different places recently.
According to a statement, Amukcham Dinesh of Wangkhei liijam Leirak handed over a Peacock Soft shell Turtle to PFA.
He found it climbing out from his pond.
The turtle would be /relocated at the water bodies of Keibul Lamjao National park with the approval of Forest Department.
The turtle could have wandered out from river or from captivity.
In another incident, a Water Monitor Lizard (esing hankong) was rescued from Tapokpi Tulihal.
Laishram Sunil of Wangkhem Huidrom Leikai rescued it from the hands of local children.
Thokchom Chandra of Mayang Imphal Thana Maning handed over a displaced Civet Cat (Moirang sathibi) to PFA.
He found it inside his fish trap.
A green whip snake was also handed over to PFA after Heikrujam Suijit of Uchol found it in his kitchen garden.
An injured Eurasian Buzzard (Umaibi makhal ama) was landed over by one Chongtham Santikumar of Heingang Awang Leikai.
Two Mountain Scope Owls were also handed over by one Longjam Santa of Wangkhei Hijam Leirak and another by one Konsam Lokendro of Kongba Kshetri leikai Torban.
Green Whip Snake, Civet Cat and one Scope owl were relocated while one of the scope owls succumbed.
Lizard and Turtle would be relocated at the earliest while Buzzard would be under treatment at PFA's animal shelter, it i added.
Meanwhile, Yening Animal Foundation rescued a female deer following inputs from staff of Shishu Nistha Niketan, Moirang Kampu.
The school staff rescued the deer from the attack of dogs.
The deer is given treatment by YAF.
