PNB robbers fled into Myanmar: Report

In a startling turn of events, the unidentified armed miscreants involved in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) heist at Viewland Ukhrul on Thursday, have reportedly fled towards the Indo-Myanmar border through the Ukhrul-Jessami National Highway 202, according to a report published by Ukhrul Times.
The UT report said that a resident of Sihai Khullen in Ukhrul district, living near the village road, was allegedly coerced into providing transportation to the robbers in his Mahindra Bolero camper.
The miscreants were purportedly dropped off near the Indo-Myanmar international border, specifically at pillar number 124-126 .
The distance from Sinai village to the international border through a dirt road is approximately 30 km.
The driver, who played a role in the reported escape, was apprehended by Ukhrul Police on Saturday from his residence in Sihai Khullen.
Details reveal that around 7 pm on November 30, the armed miscreants allegedly compelled the owner of the Bolero camper to transport them towards Sihai Kahaophung, approximately 10 km from his residence.
The driver reportedly dropped them off at Sihai Kahaophung and returned home after 8 pm.
The PNB heist, occurring at 5:40 pm on Thursday, was captured in its entirety on CCTV.
The swift execution of the robbery, taking merely 12 minutes, marks one of the most significant bank heists in the recent times.
