Senapati, December 02 2023:
The Zeme Naga Councils have appealed to the State Government and relevant department to resume the Manipur State Transport (MST) Bus service in NH 129/A to address the need for public transport in the area owing to its remote location.
Zeme Naga Council Manipur (ZNCM) and Zeme Naga Council Senapati Zone (ZNCSZ) appealed to the authorities concerned for the resumption of Manipur State Transport (MST) Bus service at the earliest in NH 129/A which was in service earlier this year.
A press release by L Etalakpe, general secretary of ZNCM said that the bus service was from Imphal via Senapati to Tampung village.
He urged for resumption of operation from Senapati District Headquarters to Tampung as the road condition has improved and the general public are in dire need of public transport and communication facilities in rural border areas especially during this winter festive season.
The two councils while appreciating the Government initiative of introducing the bus service earlier, expressed belief that the resumption of services will be done without further delay to address the needs of the people of the region.
The councils also sought the attention of the Transport Ministry and its departments to expedite the operation of the service at the earliest in the interest of the general public.
