Around 500 loaded trucks including oil tankers escorted to Imphal on NH 37

Imphal, December 01 2016:
Around 500 loaded trucks including oil tanker vehicles stranded at Jiribam due to the UNC sponsored economic blockade have been escorted to Imphal by a strong team of combined security forces yesterday.
Report reaching here said that some of the trucks had crossed Keithel Manbi at around 1 pm today.
Report from Jiribam added that around 550 laoded trucks are still stranded at Jiribam.
Another team of security escort will escort the stranded trucks in the next 1 or two days said a source from the state government.
Among those trucks which had proceeded towards Imphal includes 43 LPG loaded trucks, 48 petrol tanker trucks, 84 diesel tanker trucks, 10 rice loaded trucks, 55 cement loaded trucks, 3 medicine ferrying trucks, 6 ATFtanker trucks and 251 trucks carrying essential items.
Official source said that the trucks were escorted by a CRPF team, while the Assam Rifles and State force were on ROP duties.
