Medical campaign held

In a State where many primary services have been adversely hit by prolonged the economic blockade, the Assam Rifles has come forward to render all possible assistance to the local population in a far flung remote areas of Manipur.
In one such effort the 4 ASSAM Regiment of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) in conjunction with Chandel District Health Department conducted a major healthcare campaign in remote bordering areas of Khenjoi Sub Division, Chandel district spanning over four days from December 17 to December 20 .
These camps were carried out in seven villages.
A total of 1292 patients were examined.
Immunization of children was carried out and obstetric cases were registered.
Mobile laboratory was established in each camp and blood investigations such as Hepatitis B and C, Blood glucose level, Malaria and Dengue were done.
Special lectures on basic health and hygiene and infectious diseases were also taken.
The entire exercise was undertaken under aegis of Assam Rifles supported by the district administration.
The initiative and joint effort of Civil Administration and Assam Rifles was a step in reaching out to the people in remote bordering areas.
