Winter Disabled Mela concludes

Imphal, December 05 2013:
A three-day winter mela for disabled people jointly organized by Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Lifeline Trust Centre, Handicapped Welfare Society, Leima Leiteng Manipur and Chaokhat Khongthang SHGs for Handicapped Persons concluded at Tera Primary School here today.
The closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West K Radhakumar as Chief Guest and President of Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Ch Opendro as President, while Additional Director of Commerce and Industries V Tualthang and Public Prosecutor Ng Tejkumar attended as Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner K Radhakumar said that such special fair would develop the entrepreneurial skills of differently abled persons and also provide a platform to market their products.
The disabled people must be supported and motivated by all to help them live like normal persons.
The theme of this year's International Day for Persons with Disabilities "Break Barriers, Open Doors for Inclusive Society for All" must not exist only in words, but it must be implemented for the welfare of the disabled people, he asserted.
Certificates were also distributed to the participants of the mela on the occasion.
