Sanjit's mom for fitting punishment

After Head Constable Thounaojam Herojit's shocking confession, Chungkham Sanjit's mother Chungkham Inaotombi has demanded befitting punishment to the killer of her son according to the law of the land.
Talking to The Sangai Express, 47-year-old Inaotombi said that her eldest son Sanjit (23) went to Khwairamband bazar to purchase medicine for his ailing father on July 23, 2009 and never returned home.
The news of his death in an encounter with police commandos had inflicted a trauma upon her and her family, said a visibly emotional Inaotombi.
She said that Sanjit's purse, a gold ring, a mobile phone and a medicine prescription slip could not be recovered till date.
After many years, Herojit has now confessed that he killed Sanjit in a fake encounter, Inaotombi said and added he must be punished befittingly according to the law of the land so that such arbitrary killings are checked.
She also demanded that unnecessary police harassments and killings be shunned forever.
Inaotombi said that a case regarding her son's death is still pending in the Court.
Saying that her family has to appear before the Court from time to time, Inaotombi expressed hope that the case would be disposed off soon.
She said that Sanjit was born on March 14, 1986 and he was the eldest among her four sons.
Inaotombi said that her second son is pursuing a male nursing course while her third son is taking part in a training programme as a laboratory attendant.
She further said that her husband Chungkham Khelen (54) is a heart patient and ailing while her youngest son is reading in Class XII .
