Rs 89 crores sanctioned

The Government of India has sanctioned Rs 89 crores (approximately) for repairing Imphal-Moreh and Imphal-Mao sections of NH 2 as well as NH 150. Since Ibobi became the Chief Minister for the third consecutive term, this was the first time any sum of money was sanctioned for repairing National Highways in the State.
A reliable source informed that the amount of Rs 89 crores was sanctioned in June this year under National Highway original works of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
It is reported that e-tendering process is underway to initiate highway repairing works.
June this year for further development of the highway stretch upto the level of black-topping.
He further conveyed that technical and financial bids were respectively floated on July 16 and August 6 and that relevant process is on to complete the bid procedures.
The work allocation process is likely to be completed within September, he affirmed.
Highlighting that to minimise inconveniences being faced by the people living along the route water is being sprinkled along with mending the potholes, Ratankumar urged the people to bear the inconveniences for a little bit.
The Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed office block of the principal of South East Manipur College, Komlathabi where he also announced that the 1.5-kilometre long Kapam village road would be developed at the earliest.
Ratankumar also assured that a library block for Maha Union High School dedicated to his father will be constructed.
Tengnoupal AC MLA DK Korungthang, Chandel AC MLA Nunglung Victor, Principal Secretary (Works) ram Muivah, PWD Chief Engineer Lokendro and other department officials also accompanied the Minister.
