Boosting the morale of the party, many prominent political leaders/workers from different districts and Assembly Constituencies have joined Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Manipur Pradesh after tendering their resignation from their respective original parties.
Announcing this in a statement, general secretary (administration) of the party RK Chandrabir Singh informed that the State unit party president has given the approval for them to join the party yesterday after a minute scrutiny of the applications submitted in this regard.
Those who have joined the NCP include D Loli Adanee, L Jonathan, K Raina, Athuan Abonmai, Md Abdul Jabar Shah, S Kumar Singh, Ch Ajang Khongsai and Md Rahimmudin.
D Loli Adanee was a candidate in the 14th Lok Sabha Election, 2004 on a BJP ticket; L Jonathan is an ex-Minister from 47-Karong A/C, K Raina is the ex-Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly and ex-president of ST Morcha, BJP Manipur Pradesh from 49-Tadubi A/C; Athuan Abonmai is the ex-candidate from Tamei A/C and ex-general secretary of ST Morcha, BJP Manipur Pradesh; Md Abdul Jabar Shah is an ex-candidate of NCP from Mayang Imphal A/C; S Kumar is a social worker from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C; Ch Ajang Khongsai is an ex-State executive member of BJP Manipur Pradesh and Md Rahimmuddin is a social worker from 32-Wangkhem A/C.According to the statement, all of them personally approached the State unit NCP president V Hangkhanlian with the joint application for joining the party on September 19 afternoon.
