Imphal, July 29:
The MSF has today stated that there is certainty of a hidden agenda behind the decision of the Government of India to limit the NSCN (IM) ceasefire within the boundary of Nagaland only and asked the people not to be swayed by the announcement of the Government but to keep up the pressure to safeguard the territorial boundary of Manipur.
A statement issued by the student body said that the MSF had adopted a number of resolutions following the opinion expressed by intellectual, lawyers and other prominent persons during a meeting held at DM College of Science hall today.
As per the advice and opinions expressed by the intellectuals the MSF said it has resolved to press the Centre to give a constitutional guarantee that the boundary of Manipur would not be tampered with in any manner.
Other States would also be galvanized to lend support to the move of the MSF, said the statement.
The student body further said that they would launch a number of moves to promote communal harmony in the region and meet the challenges from any quarter that try to whip up communal tension amongst the people.
The statement further said the stand of some frontal organizations that the peace talks would fail if it is not extended beyond Nagaland is bereft of logic and reasoning.
If the Indian security forces start operations against the NSCN (IM) cadres outside Nagaland then what is wrong in for them (cadres) in staying inside Nagaland, asked MSF.
If the ceasefire is extended to Manipur then it would only allow the NSCN to move with arms in the open and indulge in looting in the State, said MSF.
The student body also said the security forces ought to crack down on the frontal organizations of the NSCN (IM).
The student body further said if the blockade imposed on the two NHs is against the India Government then it is tolerable but if it is aimed to let the people of Manipur suffer then MSF would not take it lying down.
MSF has also warned that it is capable of imposing a blockade in Assam which will also cut off Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Chandel.
