Imphal, January 19 2020:
Slamming the State Government's failure to keep its promise for implementation of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations 2018 for the college teachers of Manipur, the Federation of Government College Teachers' Association (FEGOCTA) has announced that it will resume it stir once again.

The federation even met the Education Minister concerning the demands.
Accordingly, the Government issued various statements on October 15, September 26 and November 27 last year, assuring to fulfil the demands of FEGOCTA.
Moreover, the State Cabinet had even approved the demands in principle on November 29 last year.
However, it is very unfortunate that even to this day, the State Government has failed to take up any positive steps, he lamented, adding that on July 11, necessary orders were issued approving 7th Pay for other Government employees.
He also pointed out that the college teachers of other neighbouring States like Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, are already enjoying the benefits if 7th Pay.
Setting January 27 as the deadline for the State Government to do the needful, he warned that if the authorities fail to provide any positive results by the said date, then FEGOCTA will launch various agitation, including sit in protests and relay hunger strikes, from January 28 .
