The Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has extended revolutionary salutes to Sangthem Oken alias Sergeant Herachandra of Ngaikhong Siphai Mamang Leikai, Corporal Chaothoi alias Naorem Tiken of Chairel Khunou, Lance Corporal Pamel and Puyam Inaoba alias Lance Corporal Khambaton of Moirang Khunou Maning Leikai and has conveyed heartfelt condolence at their untimely demise.
A statement issued by the Department of Communication and Publicity chief of RPF N Wangba informed that Sgt Herachandra and L/Cpl Khambaton belonged to 259 Reserve Force of the PLA and were stationed at battle fronts.
They died of malarial infection.
L/Cpl Pamel s/o late P Munal passed away at 1.20 am of November 1, Sgt Herachandra s/o S Ibohal breathed his last at around 6:55 pm of November 3, disclosed the statement.
On the other hand, L/Cpl Chaothoi s/o Naorem Modol Meitei died after a very brief spell of illness before any medical treatment could be given on October 15.Chaothoi belonged to division no I of the outfit.
RPF lamented at the inability to convey their condolence message before the Lanna Thouram of the deceased cadre as the investigation into his death took some time.
The outfit further shared the grief and pain felt by the bereaved families and the people at the demise of its heroic cadres.
RPF and its armed wing PLA has also extended revolutionary salute to L/Cpl Khingba shot dead by a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and 21 AR on the intervening night of October 29 and 30 at around 12:30 am.
According to another statement of RPF, Khingba was shot dead at the spot by the combined team after he was apprehended from a house at Kakching.
Reacting to the news report as published in some sections of the media, that the two PLA cadres opened fire first and they were hurt in retaliatory fire and one of the cadres succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital, the statement contended that neither any weapon nor party documents were provided to L/Cpl Khingba on the day.
The false statement was deliberately published by the enemy camp to cover up their act of cowardice as a pre-emptive measure to justify the cold blooded murder as they were well aware that assaulting unarmed cadres was beyond the international law and against the morality of mankind.
It further cautioned the people to be on guard against such false propaganda.
The outfit also clarified that one Gautam apprehended on the day was not related to RPF/PLA at any point of time.
RPF further shared the pain and loss being endured by the bereaved family and the people at the demise of Khingba.
