Imphal, November 05:
Asserting that the people of Manipur have not forgotten what the State politicians had done during their tenures as Chief Ministers, Deputy CMs and Cabinet Ministers, the North Imphal United Clubs and Meira Paibis Organisation (NIUCAMO) has ridiculed the cries for territorial integrity being raised by politicians ahead of the Assembly elections.
A statement issued by NIUCAMO asked the politicians whether they formulated any tangible formula to preserve the integrity of the State for posterity or whether they implemented any policy to bring about equal development in the hills and valley of Manipur.
Saying that people still remember who and who fled to Delhi during the tumultuous period of June 2002, harping on territorial integrity by the politicians with crocodile's tears has been creating a distorted image of Manipur, it observed.
Asserting that they would conveniently forget the word 'integrity' itself once they are elected, NIUCAMO asked the candidates not to mention 'territorial integrity' ever in their election campaigns to deceive people yet again.
