Imphal, November 03:
Yet another round of talk between representatives of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO and Government officials failed to come out with any solution to the impasse and the JAC has taken another day time to discuss the proposals put forward by the Government.
Five proposals were put forward by the Government in the meeting held today.
The Government proposed that a five member Official Committee would be formed to look into the demands raised by the employees.
Representatives of the JAC would also be consulted by the Committee.
The Government would positively consider the recommendations submitted by the Committee.
Necessary orders as per the recommendations submitted by the Committee would be issued by December 1 and the same would be effective from April 1 next year, the Government proposed.
The Government further proposed that medical re-imbursement would start from January 1 next year and employees pay and salaries would be paid regularly.
Though the employees called for the immediate payment of House Rent Allowance and Travel Allowance, the Government made it clear that it is not in a position to do so at the moment.
The Government representatives were led by Chief Secretary Rakesh while the JAC representatives were led by RK Madhuryajit.
JAC in a statement said their agitation will further intensify.
Meanwhile the Nurses' Association, Manipur today said that they would call off their stir if the Government concedes to their demands.
Speaking to reporters at the Old District Hospital today, representatives of the Nurses' body said though they fully support the cease work strike launched by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO, they would call off their strike if the Government fulfils their demands.
Their demands include availability of bio-safety measures and life saving and emergency drugs at the hospital.
Moreover the nurses are also demanding nursing allowance, uniform allowance, washing allowance and risk allowance.
To press home their demands the nurses had no alternative but to join the cease work strike from October 28, they said.
