Three die, 44 newly infected, 32 recover

The Covid-19 pandemic on Friday claimed three more lives as 44 more people were found infected by the virus out of 1275 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate on Friday was 3.45 per cent, slightly lower than Thursday's 3.85 per cent.
The three death cases were unvaccinated residents of Imphal East, Tamenglong and Ukhrul district.
The total number of death cases, which the government authority tags as Covid deaths, has reached 1930 .
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Friday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 31.In terms of positivity rate, Imphal West district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 8.8 per cent while Kamjong district recorded lowest positivity rate at 1.5 per cent.
Bishnupur, Chandel, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload rose to 713, out of which 79 (11.08 per cent) are in home isolation, 161 (22.58 per cent) in CCCs, and 154 (21.60 per cent) in hospitals while whereabouts of 319 patients (44.74 per cent) are not known as all the CHICs have been shut down.
Among the hospitalised patients, 49 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 25 are on oxygen support and 19 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 90 patients.
On the other hand, there are two patients on oxygen support in other CCCs.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Thursday evening, 716 beds including 129 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2523 beds in different Covid Care Centres and 451 beds (31 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 94,601 positive cases and 1556 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 392 new cases and 11 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
The current month reported 270 new positive cases and nine death cases.
According to official reports, all the 44 new positive cases (17 male & 27 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (35) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (8), Imphal West (31), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Kamjong (1) and Tamenglong (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 32 patients were discharged from home isolation (3), RIMS (7), JNIMS (5) and CCCs(17) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,001 (general population - 1,19,662 and CAPF personnel - 4,339) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,21,358 (general population - 1,17,038 and CAPF personnel - 4,320) and number of active cases is 713 (general population - 699 and CAPF personnel - 14) .
The recovery rate is 97.87 per cent.
A total of 356 D-type and 9 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Only 2240 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,52,251 including 7,47,288 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,248), Imphal East (27,464), Thoubal (9449), Churachandpur (10,140), Kangpokpi (2781), Tamenglong (3281), Bishnupur (9161), Senapati (2233), Ukhrul (2950), Kakching (6401), Chandel (2338), Noney (1068), Tengnoupal (1067), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (934) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (640), Imphal East (460), Thoubal (175), Churachandpur (161), Kangpokpi (61), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (190), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (40), Kakching (111), Chandel (39), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,962 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,555 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,43,191 tests per million population against the national average of 4,37,225 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.56 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1275 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 3.45 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.02 per cent.
