A Mobi elected AMWJU president

Editor of the Sanaleibak vernacular daily A Mobi Singh has been elected president of the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) for the term 2011-13 .
Elections for AMWJU office bearers for 2011-13 were held yesterday at Manipur Press Club here.
In the presidential election, A Mobi defeated his rival Bijoy Kakchingtabam of the Poknapham daily by five votes.
Against 81 votes secured by Bijoy, Mobi secured 86 votes.
In the elections for Standing Committee members, ten candidates contested for seven posts.
Out of the ten candidates, S Surjeswar of the Sangai Express, W Dhamendro of the Kangleipakki Meira, Ksh Meghajit of the Naharolgi Thoudang, GA Naocha of the News-X, Kh Naoba of ISTV, B Sanjoy of Eikhoigi Panthung and Y Nikesh of the Ireibak daily secured more votes than the remaining three candidates and they have been duly elected as members of the Standing Committee, conveyed a press release issued by AMWJU Election Committee chairman Khogendro Khomdram.
