A Mobi elected

Imphal, May 02 2011:
The All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMJWU) held its election for its 2011-2013 standing committee on May 1 with two candidates in the fray for the post of president and 10 candidates for the posts of committee members.
Ahongsangbam Mobi, Editor Sanaleibak daily won the post of president with 86 votes while his rival Bijoy Kakchingtabam got 81 votes.
W Dhamendro, Ksh Meghajit, Kh Naoba, GA Naocha, Y Nikesh, B Sanjoy and S Surjeshwar were also elected as members of the standing committee.
Out of 173 members of the union, 167 cast their votes in the election.
AMJWU in a press release appealed to the people of the state to deliver press releases on or before 8 pm for morning dailies, 3 pm for evening dailies and 4 pm for cable news channels.
It stated that all press releases should be issued only on official letterheads of the organisation with signatures of its official signatories and official seals.
