Imphal, May 02, 2011:
The Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) has clarified Aleng alias Atai Maxstone has been working as a gang leader and attempting to collect 'taxes' from those families who cultivated poppy plants in the areas of Sarkiphung, Leingangching and Molhang villages using the name of one Standhope as finance secretary.
The MNRF was not involved in any manner in this taxation, the outfit said in a press release issued by its information and publicity secretary Leishipam.
The true colour Aleng alias Atai of Kasom Khunou has been exposed not only by MNRF alone but also by all individuals and those who were working together with him as well as by some valley based underground organisations.
Reacting to Aleng's pledge as reported in the media on April 13 to stand and serve for the cause of Manipur's integrity, Leishipam alleged that valley based UG groups have been mocking at him for he was not a man of words.
Addressing to organising committee secretary Khuro, Leishipam asked Aleng alias Atai to come to the organisation's headquarters and serve the organisations if he really thinks himself as an active member of the party.
The information and publicity secretary further asked Aleng to stop acting as a hero but be ashamed of his own activities.
