AAMSU celebrates Ningol Chakouba

All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) celebrated Ningol Chakouba which is a remarkable social festival of Meiteis here at Rongpur Part II premises on Tuesday.
Over 60 Ningols (women) from Barak Valley areas including Lakhinagar, Kajidhar, Rongpur, Lakhipur, Sonai and Hailakandi joined the programme.
On the occasion, a formal meeting presided by the president of AAMSU central committee, Seram Herajit Singha was held with executive director of Dainik jugasankha, Nilotpol Choudhury as chief guest.
.SJayanti Devi, president of All Assam Manipuri Womens Meira-Paibi Co-Ordination Committee was the Special guest and N.Dhawja Singha, secretary Barak Valley Manipuri Development Society was the special invitee at the occasion.
Nilotpol Choudhury lighted the inaugural lamp of the Ningol Chakouba.
While speking in the ocasion, Nilotpol Choudhury said the Ningol Chakouba festible is internal bond of love and affection between a brother and sister.
He advised the members of AAMSU to celebrate the festival along with other communities next year.
Meanwhile, Seram Herajit Singha thanked everyone who came and made the event a grand success.
