With Karbi Anglong Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State clamping a 1000-hour bandh in Assam, oil tankers and LPG bullets passed through Karbi Anglong with security escorts.
Imphal-bound vehicles from Assam's Tinsukia district reached Khatkhati after passing through Karbi Anglong this morning.
Meanwhile, officials of IOC Divisional Sales Office Imphal today met Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution Minister M Okendro and reviewed the current situation, said a source.
The officials told the Minister that people are simply resorting to panic buying with the announcement of the bandh, the source added.
Convoy of oil tankers and LPG bullets leave Imphal with CRPF escorts every two days.
On the other hand, IOC has requested the Home Ministry to arrange CRPF convoy daily.
