Saving lives need of the hour, says MLA Loken

Nambol A/C MLA N Loken Singh provided medical items including oxygen concentrator, sanitizer, PPE kits to Community Health Centre, Nambol and Community Home Isolation Centre set up at SK Women's College, Nambol on Monday.
Speaking at the event, Loken called for focusing on saving lives of the people instead of politicising and indulging in war of words among political parties.
While pointing out that Covid-19 second wave has been drastically affecting all sections of the society, the MLA said he has been consulting with CSOs and NGOs so as to mitigate the problems faced by the people of Nambol assembly segment.
The CHIC has been set up at SK Women's College to accommodate Covid positive patients who do not have the facility for home isolation, he said and informed that around 330 positive patients stayed at the CHIC previously but it has now been reduced to only 84 as most of them have recovered from the illness.
Adequate food supplies have been provided to the inmates in the centre, he added.
Highlighting the importance and responsibilities of doctors, nurses and health department, Loken lauded the sacrificial works taken up by the healthcare service providers in saving lives of the people amidst Covid-19 pandemic.
The handing over of items was attended by Nambol Kendra Covid-19 Awareness cum Enforcement Committee convenor and Nambol SDO/ BDO Ch Bobo Singh, CMO (Bishnupur) Dr N Gyanesh-war, District Surveillance Officer Dr L Raichandra, District nodal officer Dr Th Nabakishore Singh, Home Isolation nodal officer Dr K Birmani, CHC Nambol MO incharge Dr L Kuber Singh and Health Department staffers.
