Imphal, April 24 2009:
"IT'S TIME the revolutionary organisations of the region stopped thinking of development of one's own organisation.
It's the appropriate time for all concerned within the organisation to stop thinking of trying to project oneself as the only wise and powerful one" .
This was stated by the chairman of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), Achou Toijamba in his message conveyed to the people and all the insurgent organisations of the region on the occasion of the 15th foundation day of his party, which falls tomorrow, April 25 .
In his message e-mailed to the press today, the chairman appealed to all the insurgent groups and the people to join hands to leave a clear-cut charter of ideas for the future generations to survive.
He also appealed for making a concerted effort to make a nation ruled by ourselves, where the people do not have to depend on others for food and are industrious.
Offering revolutionary salute to those who had laid down their lives in course of the "struggle for liberation," chairman Achou Toijamba further stated that as years pass by, the concern of the people over the question whether our generic trace would disappear is growing day by day.
Those who have the same fear are fighting to save the generic trace and sacrificing their own lives in the fight, he stated.
Some Meiteis who are colluding with the enemy are intentionally killing insurgents, who are trying to defend the territorial integrity of the motherland which had been left in tact by the ancestors for over 2,000 years, Achou Toijamba stated.
Expressing absolute confidence of achieving the objective and reaching the destination, the chairman pointed out that the number of people who are fighting for independence, to live without depending on others and carrying forward the history of generations is very little.
But the number of the Meiteis who are the subservient sidekicks of the enemy is too many.
They have better weapons and resource.
These Meiteis in collaboration with the enemy security forces kill our people at will.
Some Meiteis kill innocent civilians and insurgents numbering from one to ten in order to get promotion under the insistence of the enemy, Achou Toijamba stated.
Reminding that the social character is formed by own traditions and culture, the KYKL chairman further pointed out that the people and the insurgents of the present time seem to be distancing farther from the social character.
Stating that it is necessary to take a look back at the history, the chariman asserted that we as a nation have been surviving for over several thousands of years on the basis of our history.
In those days we had clear-cut departments of administration and we had clear-cut machinery of economy.
People had mutual trust and love for each others.
What ought to be done and not to be done for self, family, locality and the country were properly known to all.
Discipline used to be maintained properly.
The people then had the courage to defend the independence and sovereignty if the land.
It was shameful to beg and borrow from others to feed which nobody liked.
People used to respect each other according to their own capability, he stated.
(To be concluded) .
