Association demands death penalty for killer

Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has appealed the State Government to serve capital punishment to the culprit involved in the killing of Pukhrihongbam Memi of Ikou, who was found dead and stuffed in a sack near the bank of Iril river on August 17 .
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at its office in Minuthong Hafrz Hatta today, MMWO Women Wing convenor appealed the authorities concerned to conduct speedy trial and serve capital punishment to the murder suspect for committing such a heinous crime.
It can be recalled that Imphal East police in collaboration with Kangpokpi police booked the murder suspect of Memi from his home yesterday.
The suspect was identified as Yumkhaibam Rohit alias Rajesh, s/o late Riyajuddin.
Lauding the authorities for nabbing the murder suspect, MMWO Women wing convenor expressed condolence to the bereaved family of the deceased.
She appealed to the all families, clubs, Meira Paibis to raise awareness among their children, youths to prevent such crimes from happening in the near future.
