Black Day to be observed today

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) have resolved to view and clamp "KUKI-SAHNIT NIKHO" (Black Day) on September 13 every year until and unless the Government of lndia recognizes the untold misery and sufferings meted out to the Kukis by the NSCN-IM cadres and compensates the loss and ordeal by the inhuman act committed by the Naga insurgents, said a statement of Hill Tribal Council.
The Kukis all over the world is observing its 25th SAHNIT NIKHO (Black Day) on September 13 to express grief over the loss of more than thousands of innocent Kuki villagers who were brutally killed by the cadres of NSCM-IM, a genocidal campaign upon the hapless Kuki villagers where more than 360 villages were destroyed and about one lakh Kukis rendered homeless, added the statement.
The statement also urged all the Government establishments and Educational institutions in Moreh to observe the Black Day as a mark of love and respect to the victims and appealed the public of Moreh to extend their support in full spirit as a mark of solidarity of tribute to the departed souls.
A silent public rally will also be organized from 7 am from Galngam Lentuol to Forest Gate, informed the statement.
