Problems and prospects of women vendors discussed

A one day workshop on the Problems and Prospects of Women Vendors in Manipur was held at the seminar hall of the Department of Linguistics, MU, organized by the Women's Studies centre, MU and Women's Development Studies Centre, Manipur, today.
The function was graced by Prof H Nandakumar Sharma, VC, MU, Dr Ch Jamini, Director, Women's Development Studies Centre, Imphal and Prof IS Khaidem as the Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof H Nandakumar Sharma said that the women vendors along the road sides of Ima Keithel are the worst sufferers among the other women in the Ima Keithel.
The problems these women go through are not faced by the women who are issued vendor cards by the IMC.
We need to discuss the problems faced by these women vendors on the roadside and come up with a solution.
Prof Ksh Bimola also spoke as resource persons in the first session of the workshop while Dr Ch Narendra, Advocate and Dr Chinglen Meisnam spoke on different topics in the second session.
