Heirok flays erratic power bills

The All Heirok Electicity Consumers' Union in association with 21 different clubs would be launching a protest against power bill of the state power department, which prepares the bill for supposed consumption of power for whole day although the consumers get only 3 to 4 hours of power supply in a day.
Announcing this during a press meet at Manipur Press Club here today, Co-convenor of the Union Mandir Laishram said that the power department is charging bill for 24 hours of power supply per day although the consumers get only 3 to 4 hours of power supply during a day.
The Power Department is charging for the whole 30 days in a month by giving power supply only for 4 to 5 days in a month which is not acceptable to anyone.
A memorandum in this regard had already been submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Manipur, he informed, adding that the Union in association with different clubs of Heirok would launch a protest against the present billing system if it remain unchanged.
He also appealed to the people and CSOs in the state to support the issue for the welfare of the state.
