81 candidates in Tamenglong ; 80 polling stations sensitive; 25 hyper sensitive out of 165

Tamenglong, May 11 2015 :
Tamenglong has 80 sensitive and 25 hyper sensitive polling stations out of 165 in the district.
Howevr the remaining 60 polling stations are normal polling stations for the ADC elections.
In all 84 candidates filed nomination papers.
But 3 candidates from Tamenglong district have withdrawn from their nomination on Monday, the last date for withdrawal of the same.
The 3 candidates are Z.Maiphuipingbou (Independent candidate) from 2- Chaton DCC, Chamsinang Gonmei (Independent candidate) from 12- Dailong DCC and Jangding Gonmei (Independent candidate) from 18- Luangmai DCC.
Now Tamenglong has now 81 candidates are contesting in which 16 candidates are of Naga People Front (NPF); 23 candidates of Bharatia Janata Party (BJP); 17 candidates of Indian National Congress (INC); 24 candidates are Independents (IND) and 1 candidate of the Lok Janata Party (LJP).
Official sources said that out 60 normal polling stations in the district, 24 polling stations are in Tamenglong sub- Division, 4 in Tamei, 18 in Tousem, 11 in Nungba and 3 polling stations in Khoupum block.
In all 80 sensitive polling stations, 23 are in Tamenglong block, 25 in Tamei, 19 in Tousem, 3 in Nungba ad 8 polling stations in Khoupum block.
Out of 25 hyper sensitive polling stations, 1 is in Tamenglong block, 5 in Tamei, 4 in Tousem, 7 in Nungba and 8 hyper polling stations in Khoupum block.
As many as 83538 voters from Tamenglong will be exercising their franchise on 1June.The block wise distribution of voters is 29024 voters (Male142 & Female14767) are in Tamenglong block, 31391 voters (Male 15400 & Female 15991) in Tamei block and 23123 voters (Male 11271 & Female 11852) in Nungba block.
Interestingly, the District Election Office, Tamenglong has inducted some female (lady) government employees for the first time in the history of Tamenglong as Presiding Officers and Polling Officers in the forthcoming Members of Autonomous District Council election.
For the smooth conduct of Autonomous District Council election, the election officer is going to conduct training to the Polling Officer and Presiding Officer on 13 and 14 May 2015 .
