Imphal, February 10 2018:
National Tiger Conservation Authority, Guwahati Regional Centre Inspector General Dev Prakash Bankhwal today visited Bhalok and Khongjarol villages of Tamenglong district where tigers are believed to be present.
The IG visited the two villages as there were reports about sighting tigers there in the past.
Meanwhile, 30 officials of Tamenglong and Noney Forest Divisions were given training on counting tigers at the Dailong Biological Diversity site.
The trainers included Wildlife Institute of India's Senior Biologist Sudeep Banerjee and the training programme was participated by DFO Huri Golmei, ACF Napoleon Rongmei, Range Officers Kh Hitler and S Khogen and District Honorary Wildlife Warden Dr Chambo Golmei, informed a source.
