BSEM mulls legal action against AMMSO

Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) secretary S Mangoljao said that the board will process for legal action against All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) if the latter could not furnish relevant documents within three days to substantiate its allegation about unauthorised printing of BSEM-prescribed textbooks in printing presses.
Addressing the media at the board's office here on Thursday, Mangoljao dismissed as baseless and malicious charges levelled by AMMSO which was published in some state dailies.
While asserting that the Board has no involvement in any clandestine operations, the secretary affirmed that even if there arises instance of misdemeanour,' it will initiate appropriate action against the printing press and board staff involved, if any, in case the student body produces proof.
However, failure by AMMSO to corroborate the allegations levelled with proof or withdraw its accusation within three days would entail the board filing legal suit against the organisation, he said.
Mangoljao also informed that the board has not issued any official order for printing textbooks for the academicyear 2023 but the same will be issued shortly after the press conference.
BSEM chairman A Joykumar and other officials were also present at the press conference.
