139th foundation day of Indian National Congress celebrated

Block Congress Committee (BCC) and District Congress Committee (DCC) Kakching jointly observed the 139th foundation day of Indian National Congress today at the office of BCC/DCC Kakching located at Kakching Bazar.
The observation commenced with the hoisting of the party flag by former MLA, Victor Keishing who attended as the chief guest followed by speeches on the history and the contribution of Congress party.
As a mark of respect to the departed members of BCC and DCC Kakching, a two minute silence was observed by the attendees.
DCC Kakching president, Md Abdur Rahman, BCC Kakching president N Ashok, BCC Hiyanglam president Ch Iboyaima, former MLA Md Fajur Rahim, MPCC secretaries Kshetrimayum Kennedy, Md Feroz Khan and P Bangkim also graced the occasion as presidium members among others.

The 139th foundation day celebration was also held at different booths in Kakching by hoisting the party flag.
Meanwhile, Thoubal District Congress Committee and Thoubal Block Congress Committee also celebrated the 139th foundation day at the District Congress Committee office, Thoubal Athokpam.
The programme was graced by eminent party members including Thoubal District Congress Committee, vice-president Kh Muhindro; District Mahila president, Leimujam Nganbi Devi and AYCC president, O Biswanath among others.
Hoisting of the party flag by the District vice-president and paying homage to the departed party members were the highlights of the event.
As a part of the programme, the party members accorded a warm welcome to the youths of Manipur Youth League who are on a 'Long March' calling for peace in the State in front of the party office.
Speaking at the occasion, Kh Muhindro highlighted the eminent contributions made by the Congress party which is one of the oldest political parties in the country since the pre-independence period.
Further he called for support and cooperation from all to strengthen the party.
In connection with the 139th foundation day celebration of Indian National Congress, the Thoubal District Congress Committee provided edible items to the Relief Students Residency camp managed by IRE Wangjing.
A team led by Thoubal District Congress Committee, secretary administration, L Ropendro visited the camp and donated the edible items which include 10 bags of rice, edible oil, pulses etc for the students.
Speaking at the occasion, secretary resource mobilisation of the committee, Athokpam Inaobi said that the edible items have been provided to help in the functioning of the camp and promote the well being of the displaced students.
The committee also assured to continue to extend all possible help to the student's residential camp which is providing free education and boarding facilities to displaced students from Moreh, Sugnu, Serou, Sugnu and Napet amid these challenging times.
