Army celebrates Republic Day

The 64th Republic Day was celebrated by 27 Sector Assam Rifles with great fevour and enthusiasm at various locations within Churachandpur district.
Apart from distributing sweets and gifts to children, a barakhana was also arranged especially for the Ex-Servicemen and their families.
27 Sector Assam Rifles have also organised a "Dog Show" during the Republic Day Celebration at Churachandpur Public Ground and provided transport to the participating contingents of various schools.
The spectacular Dog Show casted a magical spell over the audience who were astounded with the magnificent performance of the Dogs.
On the other hand, Troops of Red Shield Division celebrated 64th Republic Day today at INA Memorial High School at Kwakta.
The National flag hoisted by Brigadier PC Nair Commander Logtak Brigade and a ceremonial salute was given to the Indian Tricolor.
Sweets were distributed to all the students and local populace.
Stationary including notebook, geometry box, clip board etc were also distributed to INA Memorial High School and St John's School Gothal, under the Military Civic Action programme.
The event was graced by melodious patriotic songs sung by Phillora Jazz Band.
Various Cultural events were organized for the civilian population by the school children.
The ceremony began with the address by Commander Logtak Brigade Brigadier PC Nair addressing the gathering.
He appreciated the rich cultural heritage of Manipur and conveyed resolve of the Security Forces in fostering these aspects of Manipur continuously.
At the end he gave away the prizes to the students who performed during the cultural events.
The ceremony was attended by about 600 locals and school children.
Troops of Senapati Brigade also celebrated Republic Day by visiting the Orphanages at Saikul, Kanglatungbi and Charhazari.
Children participated in the celebration singing the national anthem, patriotic songs and presenting a cultural programme.
The security forces also distributed sweets and gifts to the children of orphanages and sports equipment to Saijang Youth Club.
A flag hoisting ceremony, march past and a cultural programme was also organised at Jwalamukhi Public School, Lairoching.
Patriotic songs and folk dance were presented by the students of the school.
Sweets and gifts were distributed to locals during the celebration.
