Catholic schools defer admission tests

Bowing down to the pressures of various social organizations and child right groups, Catholic schools have deferred the admission test of students for enrolment at the elementary level, which was announced to be held tomorrow, indefinitely.
In this regard, the Director of Catholic Educational Society has informed that the proposed admission test to be conducted tomorrow at Catholic schools namely Nirmalabas (MG Avenue), Little Flower (Sangaiprou), St Joseph's (Sangaiprou), St George (Wangkhei) and Catholic School (Canchipur) has been postponed indefinitely.
It may be noted here that various social organizations and child right groups have opposed to conduct of admission test for admission of students in any school in accordance to the provisions of Right to Education Act.
Earlier during the day today, MSF and KSO have made it clear that the State Government should cancel the affiliation of all those schools which are acting in contravene to the laid down provisions of Right to Education Act.
