Fatalities continue as state logs 12 deaths, 442 new cases

Fatality count continues to rise in the state amid the rising number of Covid-19 positive cases as the second wave of the pandemic spreads far and wide across the state.
On Saturday, government bulletins reported 12 fatalities and 442 new cases out of 2824 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
With the rapid rise in daily new cases, active caseload has reached 3851 of which 2492 are in home isolation and the remaining 1359 undergoing treatment in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Hospitalisation rate remains high with over 35 per cent of the total active case admitted in health facilities.
So far, 6587 positive cases have been reported since Jan-uary this year of which 5312 cases were added in the last seven days alone.
In the fatality tally too, 106 death cases were recorded since January this year, out of which 51 of them were reported in the last seven days.
According to official reports, the 442 new cases include 440 civilians (212 male & 228 female) and 2 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at JNIMS (80), RIMS (29), Imphal East (9), Imphal West (54), Maipakpi (2), RD Wing (4), Little Clinic (3), Samaritan (3), Sielmat Hospital (1), Hillside (2), Ema Hospital (2), Raj Medicity (5), Shija Hospitals (18), Jivan Hospital (9), Babina Diagnostics (119), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (22), Kakching (23), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (11), Chandel (6), Senapati (3), Tengnoupal (2), Noney (12) and Jiribam (4) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (140), Imphal West (168), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (27), Kakching (32), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (15), Chandel (5), Senapati (3), Kangpokpi (1), Jiribam (4), Tengnoupal (3) and Noney (12).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 12 fatalities reported on Saturday include a 76-year-old female & a 41-year-old female from Kangpokpi; a 58-year-old female from Ukhrul; a 46-year-old female, a 72-year-old female & a 56-year-old male from Imphal East; a 65-year-old male from Thoubal; and a 75-year-old female, a 60-year-old male, a 59-year-old male, a 82-year old female & a 60-year old male from Imphal West district.
Seven of them died at JNIMS, two at RIMS and one each at DH Kangpokpi, Shija Hospitals and CMC.
The cumulative number of fatality has reached 461.In the last 24 hours, 85 patients were discharged from CAPF (2), home isolation (68), JNIMS (2), RIMS (4), RD Wing (6), Jiribam (1), BB (1) and LANVA (1).However, the official report did not mentioned district specific information of the discharged cases despite repeated requests from TPC.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 34,775 (general population - 31,125 and CAPF personnel -3,650).Number of recovered cases is 30,463 (general population - 26,994 and CAPF personnel - 3,469) and number of active cases is 3851 (general population - 3675 and CAPF personnel - 176) .
The recovery rate is 87.60 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1074 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 500 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities in the state.
So far, 2,58,740 individuals have been administered Covid vaccines, the CCR report informed.
Meanwhile, 41 new cases were detected during RAT conducted in Kakching district on Saturday.
Nine cases were detected at Jivan Hospital while the other 32 were detected at government testing centre.
The positive cases detected at government testing centre are from Irengband Sabal Makha Leikai (5), Wabagai Kadajit Maning Leikai (5), Wabagai Kadajit Mayai Leikai (1), Kakching Paji Leikai (2), Kakching Sumak Leikai (2), Kakching Makha Leikai (2), Kakching Moirangthem Leikai (3), Kakching Chumnang Leikai (3), Lamjao Makha Leikai (6), Lamjao Mayai Leikai (1), Langmeidong Maning Leikai (1), and Kakching Khunou (1) .
The nine positive cases detected at Jivan Hospital are from Elangkhangpokpi Makha Leikai (1), Wabagai Mayai Leikai (2), Wabagai Kadajit (1), Kakching Sumak Leikai (1), Tangjeng Khunjao (1), Irengband Sabal Makha Leikai (1), Thoubal Nongangkhong (1) and Khangabok (1).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 11,207 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 16,673 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 204,351 tests per million population against the national average of 215,890 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.33 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2824 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 15.65 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rose to 5.48 per cent.
