Luwang's house fired upon, headmaster hurt in blast

Imphal, March 30 2011:
Suspected UGs attacked the residence of MPP president, Dr Nimaichand Luwang with guns.
On the other hand, a school headmaster sustained injury when a bomb was set off at his house tonight by suspected UGs.
The attack at the residence of MPP president at Yairipok Bishnunaha was carried out by suspected UGs around 7.40 pm, according to a police report.
The suspects fired at least three rounds towards the house.
No casualty was reported but police said bullet holes were found at the gate in the main entrance to the house.
Police also recovered three empty cases of AK ammunition from the spot.
The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained for the time being.
Meanwhile, two suspected UGs hurled and exploded a bomb at the house of a headmaster at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai tonight around 7 pm.
Laishram Ratan (42), headmaster of a primary school at his locality, sustained injuries in his back, thigh and calves.
He has been rushed to the RIMS hospital.
The two miscreants, who came on a scooter, hurled the bomb while Ratan was washing his hands at the courtyard of his house after dinner.
After committing the act, the two miscreants left the spot hurriedly towards Kwakeithel Haorok Chanbi.
The impact of the blast damaged a water reservoir (Sangai) at the front verandah and a tube light apart from splinter hits at the wall of the house.
The motive behind the attack could not be known to the family, who claimed that there was no monetary demand from any UGs to the headmaster.
