Mass vaccination camps, awareness programmes conducted

Imphal, July 23 2021:
Around 450 people were vaccinated during a mass vaccination programme conducted at Gopalji Mandap, Yaiskul Chingkham Leirak on Friday.
The mass vaccination programme was organised by COVID-19 Task Force formed by Yaiskul Volunteers' Organisation under the aegis of Yaiskul MLA and CAF & PD minister Th Satyabrata.
Mass vaccination drive under the initiative of local MLA and works minister Th Biswajit to ensure that every eligible person in the constituency is vaccinated and make free Thongju free from COVID-19, was also conducted on Friday at SWFC community hall, Pheijaleitong wherein 405 people were vaccinated including 122 who received their second dose.
The local MLA also provided loudspeaker sets to two clubs of Thongju to enable the clubs provide relevant information to people.
The loudspeaker sets were provided to SWFC, Phei-jaleitong and THLDS, Thongju Maibi Lampak.
In Bishnupur district, mass vaccination drives were conducted in various parts of the district under the aegis of CMO.
In a release, United Clubs' Organisation of Bishnupur District (UCOBID) said that the vaccination camps were organised at Kha Potsangbam Mamang Leikai community hall, Kha Potsangbam Maning Leikai community hall, Chan-dapur Mandop and Kwakta PHC.
It was organised by District Covid-19 Task Force formed by UCOBID and All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) in association with local task force and clubs.
Kha Potsangbam Covid-19 Task Force president Th Damu-dor has said the drives aim to vaccinate about 1000 people, so that the people of the area are kept safe from the infectious disease.
He also attributed high vaccination rate in the district to the cooperation of the task force volunteers.
Meanwhile, to make people aware about COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, an awareness programme was conducted on Friday at Thoubal Haokha Ibudhou Sorarel Shanglen.
The awareness programme organised jointly by Thoubal district administration and Thoubal Municipal Council was attended by DC Rangnamei Rang Peter, SDO M Ingocha, CMO Y Nokul, additional SP Soibam Sachidananda and SDPO Johny Sharma.
Representatives of different wards of Thoubal Municipal Council were also present during the awareness programme which also discussed about conducting mass vaccination programme successfully in the area.
