BJYM president Koijam Ramkrishna has urged for instilling the spirit of games amongst the youth of the state, as a form of encouragement to the five players from Manipur who will be participating in the Tokyo Olympics scheduled to begin from Friday.
Addressing a press meet held at BJP's Nityaipat Chuthek office here on Thursday, Ramkrishna said that in connection with the Tokyo Olympics, a "Cheer for India Olympic" campaign has been prepared by BJYM under the supervision of BJP Youth presidents.
Interested youth can submit 15-20 minute long video clips of taking part in various disciplines including walking, yoga, studying, etc, during the duration of Olympic Games to the link - https:cheersfo-rindiabjym provided by BJYM.
Stating that around 127 sportspersons from India are participating in the Games, the youth president urged for the youth of the state for improving the prevailing trend in the state, while further urging all concerned to take the responsibility and make the campaign a success.
On the other hand, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi on Thursday extended assistance to the families of the five sportspersons of the state who will be participating in the Tokyo Olympics, as encouragement.
The party president extended monetary assistance to Sanglakpam Nilakanta and Pukhrambam Sushila (Hockey), MC Mary Kom (Boxing), Likmabam Sushila (Judo) and Saikhom Mirabai (Weight lifting) through their families and prayed for their victory in the games.
Sharda also handed over letters containing warm wishes to each player through their respective families.
BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretaries Deben and Premananda were also present on the occasion.
