Imphal, June 12 2021:
COVID-19 vaccination programme and mass testing are going on at six different places in Khurai assembly constituency under the keen supervision of MLA L Susindro, stated Assembly Segment COVID Awareness and Enforcement Committee, Khurai coordinator Amba Sanjenbam.
Reacting sharply to the allegation levelled by a political activist against the local MLA on slow progress of vaccination programme in Khurai AC, Amba pointed out more than 8000 people of the constituency have been vaccinated so far at six vaccination centres and one mobile vaccination booth.
This has been done under the keen supervision of MLA Susindro so that the assembly constituency does not lag behind other constituencies not only in COVID-19 vaccination but also on containing the pandemic.
Strongly condemning the statement made by political activist namely L Jayananda against MLA Susindro, Amba termed as unfortunate that Jayananda did not see daily vaccination programme being conducted at Khurai Popular High School which is few metres away from his home.
Amba claimed that Khurai is one the leading assembly constituencies in COVID-19 vaccination programme and this has been possible due to the keen initiative of local MLA.
Amba further said that 23 health workers are taking care of patients lodged at three CHICs opened in Khurai AC round the clock and all the three CHICs are equipped with oxygen concentrators provided by the local MLA.
Meanwhile, Fair Price Shop Committee of Khurai AC said that MLA Susindro made the announcement to vaccinate all the NFSA beneficiaries or else no rice will be distributed after some agents were found positive of COVID-19 while distributing rice.
The MLA made this announcement after the Committee requested the same to MLA as part of containing the virus and there is no reason to worry over making this announcement, committee president Md Basiruddin said in a video message.
He also said that the committee had requested the MLA to conduct mass testing and vaccination programmes and accordingly taken up the programmes.
However, some people are still reluctant to come out voluntarily for COVID-19 testing or vaccination and this indeed is very unfortunate, he added.
