Paomee Welfare Foundation (PWF) has issued the final call for applications from bonafide, past and present primary members of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) to avail the Medical Financial Assistance (MFA) scheme, Phase-2 for the year 2021-22 .
According to a statement from PWF, persons who incurred expenses for medical treatment between October 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 are eligible to apply for the scheme.
The statement added that this financial assistance will be distributed to beneficiaries in April-May 2022 .
The last date of submission in the prescribed application form available at the Manipur Press Club reception, along with supporting documents is April 20 .
It may be noted that PWF's MFA scheme is an annual financial assistance scheme offered in two phases interspersed.
PWF came into being in 2017 to independently manage AMWJU's corpus funds of over Rs 85 lakh, raised by way of a mega lottery organized in 2017.The Foundation offers one-time medical financial assistance to its retired and present members.
Present members can also nominate one of their immediate family members as a one-time beneficiary.
PWF funds its medical assistance scheme out of the interest earned from the corpus fund kept as fixed deposit with State Bank of India, the statement shared.
