WY tablets worth Rs 97,790 seized at Jiribam

Jiribam, January 02 2019:
A team of Jiri police led by A Krishna Sharma, ASI, Jiribam District Police seized 1778 pieces of WY Tablet from a passenger vehicle (Tata Sumo) plying on NH-37 on December 31 .
According to a statement released by SP, Jiribam District Police M Mubi Singh, a team of police led by ASI A Krishna Sharma under the direction of the SP, JDP were conducting search and frisking of passenger vehicles heading from Imphal to Jiribam on NH-37, near Jiribam petrol pump, Babupara, Jiribam on December 31 and zeroid in on a white colour Tata Sumo having registration no AS 11 AC- 2750 and seized 9 packets of WY tablets from the possession of a passenger, stuffed inside a red colour trolley bag.
On further questioning, the person has been identified as Md Khushed Ali (55) s/o (L) Md Biraj Mahamed of Yajikhara village, PS-Orani, Koilasor district, Tripura.
The seized WY tablets is worth Rs 97,790 .
A case has been registered at Jiribam police station for further investigation, it added.
