Drivers Union presses for NH-37 work completion by June

The All Manipur Road Transport and Drivers Motor Workers Union has pressed the authority concerned for completion of repairing work along NH 37 by June.
Addressing media persons at Imphal today, H Kulamani, General Secretary, All Manipur Road Transport and Drivers Motor Workers Union, pointed out that all the raw materials required for mending of NH 37 are lying idle along the road side with GREF abstaining from performing their duty.
All important bridges at Barak, Maku and Irang are in bad shape today.
As such, the authority concerned should see that mending of the road is completed before the arrival of monsoon.
The Union also condemned the burning of a bus at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai in which two handymen who were sleeping in the ill-fated bus owned by one Adhikarimayum Dhanabir of Keisampat Leimajam Leikai, died and urged the government to find out the culprits involved in the heinous crime and put them to justice.
M Anil, Organisation Secretary of the Union, who was also present at the press conference, appealed to the Nagaland Chief Minister and Chief Secretary to look into the matter related to imposition of exorbitant taxes on the vehicles from Manipur passing through Nagaland in between Mao to Dimapur.
