Imphal, February 14 2009:
State Chief Minister, O Ibobi today assures an inevitable change within a short span of time in the state if the law and order situation of the state is improved.
He said that even if there is no financial problem in the state due to Central's demonstrative assistance, the State is clenched with law and order problem.
If the law and order problems including extortion practice are solved, a change is certain in the state within a short period.
Addressing the Congress workers at the one-day district level Congress Workers' Conference at the Public Recreational Centre, Khongman in Imphal East organised by the Imphal East district Congress Committee and Thongju Block Congress, Ibobi further said that the SPF government has been trying to achieve the pending works that could not be accomplished during the last term of the government.
He said that the Congress-led government is exerting its best efforts to take up new developmental projects in the state too.
Ibobi said that his government is determined to have enabled night landing facility at Imphal Airport and to realize its grit, securities have been deployed at the airport to avert any destructive action which might cause hurdles for the felicitation of night landing in the airport.
He said the government is facing difficulty in providing securities at every place where developmental program is undertaken while appealing that instead of hampering the projects that have been taken up by the government, it would be welcomed if the people give cooperation by keeping close tab on the works to ensure quality maintenance in the works.
Appealing the public of the state to live democratically and shun the path of violence, the chief minister said he is even willing to dedicate his life for such cause.
Dwelling on the 'Black Saheb' tagline, Ibobi said that the MPP has been leading the people in the wrong path by uttering such words.
He said, Manipur is an independent state and it is part of Independent India.
He said that the assertion of the 'Black Saheb' tagline did not mentioned clearly whether India has deprived the constitution, voting rights and financial rights of the people of Manipur.
He said india is constituted by more than 400 kingdoms like Manipur.
If Manipur claims independence from such federation, India will be disintegrated and as such, there is no reason India will grant us independence.
Drawing home nearer, Ibobi said that the construction of the retaining wall along Khongman River in Imphal East district where the Centre sanction Rs 12 crore from the NLCPR is due to the pressure put forth by the circle MLA Bijoy Koijam and the chief minster.
Asserting that Manipur is ahead of many other states, Ibobi calls for the improvement of its human resource.
He said, to make Manipur a stable state, it needs to be run by a strong party like the Congress while appealing to strengthen the Congress party.
