In a rare display of honesty and nobility, a purse containing Rs 11085 and pair of gold ear rings had been returned back to the owner after it was found lying near the new SBI Imphal by a jawan of the B/143 Bn CRPF at about 9.45 am of February 11 .
According to a press release issued by the Officer Commanding of B/143 Bn CRPF, there was also a PAN (no-AOEPD 14441E) in the name of one Okram Purnima Devi and two Amway provisional receipts inside the purse.
After contacting the owner through telephone, all the recovered items including the gold ear rings weighing 30 gms and valued at Rs 50,000 (approximately) were returned back to the owner through the officer in-charge of City police station, Imphal on the same day (February 11), conveyed the release.
