CNPO's crucial meeting endorses FCI godown at Liwa Khullen

Chandel Naga People's Organization (CNPO) comes out with a verdict that proposed construction of FCI godown at (2500 MT storage capacity) at Liwa Khullen in Chandel district is a cabinet decision.
The statement of CNPO has come following the 'crucial meeting' convened today at its office located at the district head quarter town of Chandel along with leaders of various Civil Societies Organizations, Chiefs and frontal organization based in Chandel .
Talking to media after the meeting, Gabriel Chinir, President of CNPO, observed that the Civil Societies in Chandel have been hearing about the proposed construction of FCI godown in Chandel since 2010.After taking all the criteria into consideration, Liwa khullen was proposed for the site of construction.
Several inspections were undertaken with involvement of the concerned authority, District administration and the CSOs and approved Liwa Khullen as the most appropriate site.
Accordingly the district administration took the decision which is being pursued till date.
So, at this junction, when are expecting the State Government to expedite the required construction work, CNPO was shock by the statement of the concerned Minister and several other organizations through media that the FCI Godown for Chandel district will be constructed at Molnoi village.
While clarifying that CNPO's is not against any community especially that of Molnoi area, Gabriel Chinir termed that the delay tactics and lackadaisical attitude of the government on the proposed construction work at Liwa Khullen as unfortunate and went on to appeal to the Govt to expedite the process and begin the construction work.
Wangshol Kanral Anal, Social Worker, pointed out that the Additional Secretary (CAF& PD) Consumers Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Department, Govt.of Manipur, namely M.Yaiskul Meitei in his letter No.9/1/2010-CAF&PD/Pt.I/246 dated January 18, 2013, had directed the Deputy commissioner Chandel to go ahead with the construction of FCI go down at Liwa khullen and subsequently the Govt had also asked the DC Chandel to expedite the process for acquisition of land.

Betha Anal, General Secretary of CNPO, informed that as the donor of the land for the proposed FCI godown construction at Molnoi area failed to produced the required document in support of the land, the meeting decided that the donor of the land for Liwa Khullen village has been considered as the real donor of the land for construction of the godown.
The land document (old patta No.57/30, new patta no.15, Dag No 520/521) has also been found to have been authenticated and verified by the Sub Deputy collector Chandel.
Therefore, the meeting reaffirmed and endorsed the proposal of FCI godown construction at Liwa Khullen and rejected proposed site for construction at Molnoi area.
