Imphal, April 29 2013:
Four labourers of Coastal Project Limited, engaged in construction of Jiri-Tupul railway, who were abducted by unidentified gunmen on April 23 last were released unharmed this morning near Barak.
The labourers were abducted from Thingtuphung area while they were engaged in construction of railway tunnel No 2 on April 23 around 10.40 pm.
Jiri police along with police commandos raided many villages within the jurisdiction of Tousem PS as a rescue operation to the abducted labourers.
Meanwhile, an official of the Coastal Project Ltd bemoaned the inadequate security arrangement in such highly sensitive area.
