Moreh police continue anti-encroachment drive

As part of its ongoing anti-encroachment drive, a team of Moreh police led by Additional SP Kh Robinsun along with SDPO Shandeep Gopal Das, SDC H Romio and OC Letkhohao Vaiphei demolished the temporary structures erected by the shopkeepers along the pavement, today.
The drive was conducted against those shopkeepers who have not followed the stern warnings issued by the Moreh police yesterday to stop using pavement and footpath to sell their food products and other consumable items that has caused major problem to the public in the market area.
Moreh police warned the shopkeepers who have erected temporary structures along NH-102 of Moreh Bazar to remove it within three days and further cautioned that they will use heavy machinery to demolish the structure.
Meanwhile, president Meetei Council Moreh M Thoiba conveyed that the drive was conducted in association with various community leaders of Moreh to remove the street vendors and clear the pavements which will make life easier for the school going children.
He also said that MCM along with Moreh police are planning to continue the drive along Indo-Myanmar road, Gate No 2 .
