Bishnupur, July 12 2017:
Executive Engineer L Gokulchandra Singh PHED Bishnupur Division distributed drinking water and chlorine tablets to the flood victims of Nambol who are taking refuge at different relief camps.
A newly opened relief camp at Ningthoukhong Kha Government High School was inspected by members of BJP Bishnupur Mandal.
secretary of the Mandal urged the State Government to look into the situation of the camp.
Ningthoukhong Educational Sports Development Association secretary S Anal sought the State Government's attention and further urged to provide the necessary relief materials for the victims at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Bishnupur Block Congress Committee distributed three bags of rice each to the families at the relief camp.
On the other hand, the flood situation has made 300 people of ward no 10 Upokpi Khunou under Nachou Gram Panchayat homeless.
They are taking shelter at the roadsides by building temporary sheds, reports our correspondent.
SDO, Moirang inspected a relief camp at Ithai Wapokpi Ima Phadibi Laibung and assured to provide the necessary relief materials at the earliest.
