CM extends loans to Kwatha SHGs

Imphal, July 12 2017:
:As assured earlier that the Government would extend its support to the people of Kwatha village, Chief Minister N Biren handed over sanctioned loans to women Self Help Groups of Kwatha village, Tengnoupal district in presence of Minister for Health and Family Welfare L Jayantakumar held at the CM Secretariat today .
Stating that the Manipur State Co-operative Bank was entrusted to lend loans to the SHGs of Kwatha village on first "Meeyamgi Numit" held on May 15 this year, Chief Minister N Biren Singh exuded confidence that such financial support would help the people of Kwatha attain sustainable means of livelihood by way of enhancing their food productivity such as Soibum (fermented bamboo shoots) etc .
Highlighting that he had directed the Ministers to inspect and take necessary actions for the development of Kwatha village, the Chief Minister assured that the approach road from the National Highway-102 to Kwatha village would be blacktopped at the earliest .
An IRB or MR post would be established soon near the village, he added .
The Chief Minister handed over cheques of Rs 50,000 each to six Self Help Groups representing the village .
It may be mentioned that Kwatha Village has around 75 houses with a population of 375 people.
